It all began at the University of Missouri, where we met the good ‘ol’ fashioned way—online dating (swipe right success story!). Shortly after we connected, Savannah graduated and moved back to Kansas City, while Calvin stayed in Columbia to continue his studies.

Despite the distance, we continued the “talking” stage and became weekend road trip regulars. After only six months (yes, Savannah was counting), Calvin finally came to his senses and made it official on August 14, 2021. Savannah may have pretended to play it cool, but she said yes faster than you can say “about time.”

Before Calvin graduated in May 2022, we took one last spring break trip to Chicago and instantly fell in love with the city. Just a few months later, we made the leap and moved there together in June.

Over the next two and a half years, we explored the city, picked up new hobbies, made great friends, and created memories that confirmed what we already knew: we were in it for the long haul. 

In October 2024, Calvin sealed the deal with a proposal. Savannah, of course, said yes—followed by a very on-brand happy dance.

And now, here we are—planning the best party of our lives! We can’t wait to celebrate with all of our favorite people. Let’s do this thing!
